Mr. Tousley is Senior Vice President of Acquisitions at Griffin Companies. With many years of experience in financial management, he brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the operations and financing of investment properties. Mr. Tousley has negotiated the purchase of land for new developments as well as the acquisition of existing properties. He has been involved in the investment analysis, financing, acquisition, and/or development of properties with a cost in excess of $100,000,000 through the use of both private and public funding. He has also supervised the asset management of the portfolio of properties after acquisition or development. Mr. Tousley has a strong background of experience working with multi-family, affordable housing, office, mixed use, and retail properties. He has been involved with a wide variety of financing options including; Tax Increment Financing, tax credits, housing revenue bonds, HUD financing, construction financing, FNMA, and other conventional financing. Mr. Tousley has worked with various cities, counties, and other government agencies to resolve zoning, density, permitting, and financing issues. He has also prepared numerous investment analyses and has done financial modeling for a wide variety of potential investments. As a Vice President of a mezzanine finance company, Mr. Toulsey has assisted in the preparation, submission, and issuance of a $5 million Regulation D securities offering of subordinated debentures for real estate acquisitions and development. He has also been instrumental in raising capital for subordinated debt and equity for commercial real estate projects from high net worth individuals as well as institutional investors Prior to his affiliation with Griffin Companies, Mr. Tousley was the Vice President of a real estate investment company actively engaged in developing and acquiring commercial investment properties. He is also currently an adjunct instructor at the University of St Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota where he teaches courses in Real Estate Finance and Fundamentals of Real Estate. In addition, he has also prepared and presented sessions on commercial real estate finance that was a part of the Mini-Masters program for real estate professionals Mr. Tousley has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado and an MBA from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. He is a member of Minnesota Multi Housing Association and the Certified Commercial Investment Member Institute, where he has been awarded the prestigious CCIM designation.
